Blue in Adidas Contest by DG-ART85 Blue in Adidas Contest by DG-ART85
Here is Blue(My original character), yeah Blue is her name, you probably seen her in my gallery, so i kinda like her and gave her a name(Kinda like a likable character like art gem's pepper.)

OK, now to the inspiration of this contest piece:D

I wanted to do something that was fresh, ya know like when Adidas became known to the urban world, like in the 80's. It was the time, in my opinion, that creativity amongst the younger generation was at its finest and what was on these creative genius feet during this era?, that's right, Adidas.

So i decided to do a character of mine in a 80's setting that included: turntables, city life, b-girl, and she is Djing. The reason why the city is colorful, cause that represents the colors often used in graffiti, the transition from blue to yellow is night and day, and also city life is always moving and vibrate.

The night and day aspect is the parting all night long(also represented by Blue on the turntables).

Finally the finger painting concept comes in with blue mixing on the turn tables, to me, Djing is an art and the finger painting is as creative as finger painting. Also if you notice the city is suppose to be finge rpainted as well with the finger print marks on the end of the strokes.

Well good luck everyone and keep it FRESH!:D

It seems everything I would have liked to point out has already been, so I'm just going to go with that: I really like how colorful this is, especially the background. Also, while her left arm seems too skinny, I like the overall perspective :)

Even though her sleeves are supposed be a little baggy, I feel there needs to be sense of the arm's structure underneath. I'm not sure about those angular edges at the shoulders. They don't look like folds and kind of distracting. The color scheme seems to work together though.

Hey bro, I really love the colors you have here. I believe your exploration has improved, and it'll continue to as well. :) So I know your colors will double in skill in no time, if you continue to push and pursue.

For some reason, the pose for Blue doesn't feel consistent to me...it feels like she's starting with a straight pose, but then curves at the bottom, not unifying her body posture. That, and the trash can looks flat to me (unless you were intending for it to be flat, then no worries). Just those two things that I think could be pushed more.

Other than that, I think it looks smooth. :) Are you allowed to only submit one? Or could you submit another entry to the mix?
